Sometimes we need to remember that we don't own anything, but we have been entrusted with everything! If you missed last Sunday's sermon because you just "forgot" to set your clock ahead an hour :-), you can listen to the sermon at http://www.umatter2godandus.com/sermon/daily-discipline-2-managing-gods-finances/
What if in a day where it seems easier and even safer to be cynical, pessimistic, and sarcastic, the United Methodist Church decided to side with Paul and his teaching, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…”(Philippians 2:1-5)? While this week's sermon was a pastoral response to the Special General Conference, it was also an invitation to us who call ourselves Christians and express our Christianity as United Methodist's to create the daily habit of having a Christ-like attitude in all circumstances. You can listen to a recording of this week's sermon at http://www.umatter2godandus.com/sermon/daily-discipline-1-having-a-christ-like-attitude/
This was an impromptu praise experience at the mission church.
One post just couldn't contain all the memories from Cuba -so here are some more photos
Your team from Cuba has returned. It was a terrific trip! Now we have the opportunity to tell you the stories behind the pictures, share the memories with you and then get busy at creating opportunities for you to go to Cuba and create your own amazing memries
In John 8:1-11 Jesus said, "If any one of you (lawyers and religious leaders) is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her..." do you think that teaching or line of ethics is practical in the 21st Century?
When is the last time you heard a sermon that focused on a beer commerical? This past Sunday we were challenged to consider how to confront others in love and it started by viewing this commerical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKggA9k8DKw If you would like to hear the entire sermon you can download the sermon www.umatter2GodandUs.com

A note from our friends at Multi-Cultural Resource Center of Fort Pierce. Once again you are proving that we are a church that loves to make a difference in our community. "Thank you to the folks at First United Methodist Church for your donation to the MRC kids. Because of your generosity, we not only had a wonderful Christmas Party, but Santa will be available during the year to help our MRC children in time of need."
Do you find yourself being afraid of being too hopeful or too joyful? Are you the kind of person who celebrates when great things happen to you and then only a few moments later you hear yourself saying, "Don't be to hopeful or joyful because there is a diaster waiting around the corner for you?" If you have ever struggled with offering hope and joy to people who are overwhelmed by life's challenges then you may want to listen to last week's message "Audacious Joy Through Christmas". You may also be interested in working through the accompanying action guide. Both resources can be found at www.umatter2GodandUs.com
Why do 21st Century Christians need to know that they should be bold enough to ask for a sign of hope in the midst of overwhelming odds, especially since hope deferred can make the heart sick? In this week's message, we considered the mission Christians have in the 21st Century of being beacons of hope in the midst of overwhelming challenges. In addition, we discussed how to sustain our hope while walking with people who feel overwhelmed and hopeless. To listen to the sermon and download the Hope Action Guide visit http://www.umatter2godandus.com/sermon/the-audacity-of-hope/

It is one thing to express gratitude when everything is going well, but how are we supposed to say "Thanks" when we don't feel like it? How do we express gratitude when life is less than perfect? Why does Paul place such high expectations on us, "Give thanks in ALL circumstances?" You can download this week's sermon, "Thanks, Now What!" and action guide here http://www.umatter2godandus.com/sermon/thanks-now-what/
What if the blessing you received tomorrow was dependent upon the way you expressed gratitude today - what kind of blessing would you receive? Have you ever had what I call a "yogurt hitting the fan kind of day?" You know the day where absolutely everything that could wrong goes wrong - did you feel like giving thanks in the moments of that day? Paul challenges us to give thanks in ALL circumstances. This Sunday we invite you to come and discover why it is necessary to give thanks in all circumstances and how to give thanks in those "yogurt hitting the fan kind of days". If you are looking for a church that loves to welcome imperfect people; a church that is filled with people who are striving to live a more blessed and inspired life by being less religious, and who really want you to know that you matter to God why not come and worship with us this Sunday at 9:30. If you are not able to visit with us we want to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for being you.
If you were impressed with last month's art exhibit then you won't want to miss this month's "Ramp it Up" event. This month's theme is "Casting Shadows". Come and see how the local Fort Pierce artists express dark and light in photographic contrast. The exhibit is open Friday, November 16th from 4:30P.M. to 7:30P.M.

Have you noticed how difficult it is for good news to compete with bad news these days? How should Christians proclaim their Good News in this very busy, noisy, competitive world?
This video will give you a pretty good view of life here in Djibouti, or at least life at Camp Lemonnier.
As we approach the end of the year our Finance Team would like to invite you to consider making a year end gift to the church so that we can continue to provide outstanding ministry to Fort Pierce and around the world. This short video will give you a couple of suggestions on how you might be able to accomplish this.
Come and be a part of a national movement. Check out church at First UMC on Sunday, September 17th at 9:30. It's a great place to laugh and be reminded that you really do matter to God.
